Itella has set up a specialised e-commerce unit to be led by parcels chief Aku Happo tostrengthen its position in the sector.
The new unit will start operating on July 1, 2013, and will ensure an appropriate service rangefor online shops including marketing services, data systems, software services for e-commerce andparcel and delivery services for delivering ordered goods.
“The importance of e-commerce will grow substantially in the future. Itella’s objective is tostrengthen its position even further as a provider of logistics services for online shops. One ofthe tasks of the new e-commerce unit is to speed up growth. We help companies of all sizes to findthe possibilities offered by e-commerce,” said Itella CEO Heikki Malinen.
Happo, currently director of Itella’s parcel business, has also been appointed as a member ofthe Itella Management Board and will report to CEO Malinen. He joined Itella in 1997 and his formerjobs include product group manager and business director both in Itella Mail Communications andItella Logistics.
From July onwards, Juha Tiittanen will take over from Happo as the director of Parcel Servicesin Mail Communications. He will report to Jukka Rosenberg, Director of Itella MailCommunications.
