Express and mail disruptions are expected to continue today due to adverse weather conditions innorthern Queensland, Australia, and parts of Greece, although the risk of disruptions due to
flooding in Ohio, US, is understood to have receded.Heavy rains were reported to be continuing in parts of cyclone-devastated northern Queensland,with delays to deliveries expected due to flooding, which has made some regions inaccessible.According to DHL’s fortnightly Global Mail Service Disruptions bulletin, delays may also beexpected due to wintry weather conditions in parts of Greece, where some roads may be blocked.
Meanwhile, disruptions continued this week across Libya, and there was civil unrest in a numberof countries in Africa and the Middle East. Security analyst Red24 reported ongoing anti-governmentprotests in Bahrain; clashes yesterday in Cairo between Muslims and Coptic Christians; and Yemenisecurity forces firing on anti-government protesters in Sanaa. In the Ivory Coast, protests aresaid to have left at least four dead in Abidjan, while ongoing religious tensions in Ethiopiaresulted in casualties in the Jimma region.
Red24 said anti-government protests were planned for 11 March in Azerbaijan and Djibouti, whileJapan had today issued a Tsunami warning in response to a large earthquake off the country’s eastcoast.
