Swiss Post is now offering to forward letters to mobile phones during the summer holidays in itslatest innovation move.
Swiss Post Solutions has launched an offer under which it temporarily digitises privatelyaddressed mail while people are away from home for a few weeks and redirects it to their electronicSwiss Post Box.
Users of the new Swiss Post Box «Single Easy» solution can entrust Swiss Post with filtering alltheir personally addressed mail in advance and digitising it at the Swiss Post scanning centre. Theresulting scanned documents are then forwarded to the customers’ personalized electronicletterboxes.
From here, recipients can access the images of the envelopes and issue further instructions.They can choose whether to open the envelopes and have the content scanned in, or whether to havethe letter sent to them in physical form, or even have it destroyed.
Thanks to this new temporary electronic letterbox, customers can receive their addressed mailanywhere in the world, regardless of location and time. The new temporary solution requires aone-time registration that costs CHF 25. From then on, the Swiss Post Box can be activated anddeactivated online as required with very little effort.
The Swiss Post Box «Single Easy» solution, which is the electronic equivalent of the physicalforwarding order, does not incur any fixed monthly costs. Customers are only charged once theirmail arrives, based on their usage pattern.
The previous Swiss Post Box solution, which requires users to provide the senders with a fixedalternative address, is only suitable for permanent relocation, the company pointed out .
