International cosmetics group L’Oréal has chosen Itella Logistics to handle management of itsnational distribution centre in Finland.
Under the contract, Itella Logistics will provide the warehousing of L’Oréal’s cosmetics andpersonal care products, the products’ final preparation and all sales support material for itsmarketing channels in Finland. In November, 40 L’Oréal Logistics professionals will transfer toItella Logistics.
Around 18 million products are handled annually at L’Oreal’s 8,000 sqm distribution centre inHakkila, in the city of Vantaa. The warehouse will be controlled by Itella Logistics’ informationsystem, which will be integrated into L’Oréal’s enterprise resource planning system.
“This partnership will provide flexibility and cost effectiveness to our Logistics function.We will combine the sound experience of our staff with Itella’s advanced solutions in ServiceLogistics. This will improve the quality of our service and strengthen our position as a marketerof familiar cosmetics products,” said Johan Berg, Managing Director of L’Oréal Finland.
