Top speakers discuss e-commerce, technology and growth at Leaders in Logistics - Post & Parcel APAC conference

E-commerce, technological innovation, cross-border growth strategies, opportunities and challenges are among the key issues to be discussed by a strong line-up of speakers at the rebranded Leaders in Logistics - Post & Parcel APAC conference in Shanghai next week. 

Now in its fourth year, the two-day event – for which CEP-Research is a media partner – looks set to attract a broad audience of participants from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. These will include retail clients such as Lazada Group and eBay, and major industry players including China Post, Cainiao Network, DHL eCommerce, FedEx, SingPost, Yamato Holdings and YTO Express. 

According to conference organiser Marketforce, the event “will provide an invaluable opportunity for post & parcel industry players to debate and discuss strategies to ensure future business success in a constantly evolving market”. 

Day one kicks off with keynote presentations from Jacky Tang (Cross-border E-Commerce Logistics Director – International Business Department, China Post), Zhi Zheng (Managing Director, North Asia & Greater China, DHL eCommerce) and Adriana Diener-Veinott (Managing Director, Accenture), followed by a panel discussion also including Misko Kancko (Global Strategy & Partnerships, Canada Post). 

The Southeast Asia e-commerce boom will be the subject of a presentation by Sean Cheng (Head of Cross-Border, Lazada Group), while Alberto Pimenta (Head of e-Commerce, CTT Portugal Post) will look at broader international postal industry trends, and Lionel Berthe (Head of Asia-Pacific, Asendia) will discuss partnerships between postal operators and e-commerce players. 

Cross-border e-commerce will be the focus of presentations by Kang Zhang (General Manager, International CBT Shipping, eBay) and Salil Chari (VP of Marketing APAC, FedEx) later on the first day. 

The conference’s second day will cover a range of different topics. Alex Tan (Chief Digital & Technology Officer, SingPost) will look at technology developments, Weiru Chen (Strategy Consultant for Cainiao Network and Professor at the Alibaba Business School) will explain how Alibaba Group’s logistics subsidiary Cainiao Network is building a ‘New Logistics’ network in China and internationally, and Dieter Bambauer (CEO PostLogistics, Swiss Post) will cover the company’s successful integration of technology into parcel operations. 

The Chinese express market will be the subject of a presentation by Leo Huang (YTO Express), while Katsuhiko Umetsu (Senior Executive Officer, Yamato Holdings) will look at cross-border partnerships for business growth.
