Successful strategies, operational innovations and new commercial ideas will be delivered direct by postal and parcel experts from Europe and beyond at the Leaders in Logistics Post & Parcel Europe conference in Madrid later this month.

More than 50 speakers are due to address the three-day event at the Melia Avenida America hotel from 26 – 28 March, for which CEP-Research is a media partner. Over 250 senior executives and decision-makers from more than 30 different companies, including European postal and parcel operators, international e-commerce retailers and start-ups, are expected to attend.

There is an impressive line-up of big-name speakers for this key date in the international calendar for the postal and parcel industry.

Delegates will hear from several CEOs, including Juan Manuel Serrano Quintana (Correos), Ansi Arumeel (Omniva), Asta Sungailiené (Lietuvos Pastas/Lithuania Post) and Ingimundur Sigurpálsson (Iceland Post); as well as board-level executives such as Peter Kjaer Jensen (Head of PostNord Denmark), Peter Umundum (head of Parcels & Logistics, Österreichische Post), Liesbeth Kaashoek (head of Parcels & Logistics, PostNL) and Björn Ekstedt (CIO, PostNord).

Overseas speakers include Mary Traversy (COO, Canada Post), Carl Asmus (CEO, FedEx Cross Border) and Alex Wang (GM Europe, SF Express). Werner Stengg (head of the European Commission’s E-Commerce & Online Platforms unit) will discuss the European regulatory situation, while industry experts Brody Buhler (Accenture) and Mark Harrison (IPC) will look at market trends and developments.

Hot topics, according to organisers Marketforce, will include technological innovations, evolving customer expectations, sustainability, e-commerce and the challenge of cross-border delivery.

Once again, the event is divided into two parts. There is an Innovation in Operations day on Tuesday, March 26, focusing mostly on technology and start-ups.

This is followed by the two-day Post & Parcel Europe Summit on Wednesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 28. E-commerce, international networks, the impact and consequences of Brexit, managing the letters decline, customer experience, European regulations and sustainability are just some of the diverse topics under discussion.

CEP-Research will report direct from Leaders in Logistics Post & Parcel Europe 2019 as well as after the event.
