UK online fashion retailer ASOS is extending its new ‘instant delivery’ service provided by B2C specialist On the dot to Leeds and Manchester after a successful launch in London last month and will add more cities next year.
The same-day service, ‘ASOS Instant’, is now available to customers with deliveries to selected Leeds, London and Manchester postcodes on orders placed before 10am, Monday – Friday. It costs £9.95 (down from the original price of £12.95).
Parcels will be delivered by CitySprint’s On the dot service between 6 – 10pm on the same day. Further availability in other UK cities will follow in the new year.
“We’re excited to be extending the reach of ASOS Instant to Leeds and Manchester following its successful launch in London. It is illustrative of our commitment to exploring delivery options that provide convenience and choice for ASOS customers,” said Matt Rogers, Delivery Solutions and Returns Director, ASOS.
Patrick Gallagher, CitySprint Group CEO, commented: “We are incredibly proud that On the dot’s market leading technology will allow ASOS to further enhance the experience of its customers in Leeds and Manchester. Convenient delivery plays a huge role in acquiring and retaining customers and the provision of same-day delivery services is a must-have for businesses like ASOS whose customers increasingly want to shop on their own terms. As this demand grows, On the dot is well placed to help by offering retailers a range of flexible delivery options with nationwide reach."
The ASOS approach to its customers is to offer as much choice as possible. This applies both to fashion – with more than 85,000 products on offer at any time – and delivery propositions. In the last year alone, the company introduced 200 related delivery improvements around the world. Current UK delivery options include next day delivery, Click and Collect, one-hour delivery times and free returns as standard on all ASOS orders.
ASOS had 15 million active customers in the UK (5.2 million) and other countries (9.8 million) as of 30 June 2017, up from 12 million one year earlier.
Developed in 2015 and launched nationwide in 2016, On the dot is based on innovative new technology developed by CitySprint, which is designed to dynamically display capacity across its delivery network. The platform makes one-hour delivery time slots visible to both retailers and shoppers based on factors such as customer and store locations.
CitySprint is the UK’s largest privately owned same day distribution company, offering an extensive portfolio of services including SameDay Courier, SameDay Logistics, International & UK Overnight courier services. The company has a regional network of 41 service centres across the UK with a fleet of over 3,500 vehicles that enables its couriers to reach over 88% of mainland UK within 60 minutes.
