Middle East-based express and freight group Aramex has delivered some 600 tonnes of aid supplies topeople in the Gaza strip.
Over 600 tonnes of aid supplies were collected during Aramex’s “Deliver Hope to the People ofGaza” relief aid campaign that was organised in the UAE and Jordan earlier this year, the companysaid in a statement.
Aramex linked up with the Hashemite Relief Commission in Jordan to deliver urgently neededmedical supplies, dry food and blankets to more than 1.5 million Palestinians in the Gaza strip.
Aramex’s logistics network has previously helped people in disaster-afflicted areas aroundthe world. In 2006, the company joined forces with the Higher Relief Commission (HRC) in Lebanon tomanage the logistics and distribution of international aid materials following the bombing of theBeirut International Airport. During the “Aid Lebanon with Us” campaign, Aramex managed to collectand ship more than 500 tonnes of aid materials.
Aramex also supplied aid to the victims of the Pakistan earthquake in 2006 and was alsoheavily involved in getting support to people affected by the 2004 Tsunami in South Asia.
