European cross-border parcels and pallets network EURODIS is confident of speeding up to double-digit volume growth in 2018 after a dynamic start to the year.
The Germany-based network increased the number of shipments by 22% in January and a further 11% in February, giving it an overall 17% rise in the first two months of the year.
“This is an extremely good start to the year,” said Christian Knoblich, managing director of EURODIS GmbH, which steers the network covering 36 European countries. He is confident of achieving double-digit growth for the whole of 2018.
Looking back at 2017, he added: “Last year, we started quite slowly but saw a highly accelerated growth in the second half of the year. From July until December the number of shipments increased by 12%, and in the last three months by 13%.” Overall, EURODIS closed the year with a volume increase of 5%.
“Even this is a good development but for this year we are again aiming at above-average growth,” Knoblich said. In 2016, EURODIS had seen an increase in shipment numbers of 11%.
Highlighting the network’s selling-points, he added: “We bring together strong national logistics companies and common international processes as well as quality standards. This meets the wish of shippers who expect on the one hand side extensive country-specific expertise and on the other side internationally valid standards.”
Founded in 1993, the network now covers 36 countries. Key partners include trans-o-flex (Germany), Redur (Spain/Portugal), SDA (Italy), Österreichische Post (Austria), PostNL (Netherlands) and Bonafide (Switzerland). Overall, the EURODIS partners delivered some 475 million domestic and international shipments, in 2016, generating combining revenues of €3.9 billion.
