PostNord delivers food for major Swedish grocery retailer Coop

PostNord delivers in northern Sweden

PostNord has expanded cooperation with Coop, one of Sweden’s largest chains of grocery stores, now making temperature-controlled deliveries on behalf of Coop across northern Sweden five days a week.

With the new three-year agreement, PostNord will take charge of long-distance transport, retail distribution and returns management in the regions of Jämtland, Västernorrland and Gästrikland. The postal operator will also be responsible for the distribution of chilled and frozen goods in Jämtland and Västernorrland.

“Our customers trust us to handle the groceries in a safe, proper and sustainable manner. Delivery by PostNord is an important part of this process,” Peter Rosendahl, transport manager at Coop, said.

“This confirms that we correspond to Coop's high standards in terms of delivery reliability, quality and good partnership. Now we look forward to jointly developing our cooperation even more,” Jon Widell, head of PostNord Termo, said.

PostNord's thermal business handles all types of consumer goods, both refrigerated and frozen groceries and specialty goods. The company handles and delivers everything that is sold in a store – from food, beverages and pharmaceuticals to sleds and vacuum cleaners – whether for Coop or any other player in the grocery industry.
