UPS expands Worldwide Express Freight

UPS has today expanded its Worldwide Express Freight service for urgent, time-sensitive andhigh-value heavyweight shipments to 12 new origin and nine new destination countries, including

several in Asia, which brings the total number to 50 origin and 51 destination countries andterritories throughout the world.

In the Asia-Pacific region, UPS Worldwide Express Freight has been added as an origin anddestination service in Indonesia, New Zealand and Vietnam. This brings the total number of originand destination markets featuring this service to 13 within the region.

Beyond the Asia-Pacific region, the new origin countries from which the service will beavailable include Chile, Greece, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovakiaand Turkey. The new destination countries are Chile, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, SaudiArabia and Turkey.

UPS stressed that the service, which guarantees door-to-door delivery in 1-3 days, isparticularly useful for product launches, inventory shortages or equipment failure replacementparts.

“UPS Worldwide Express Freight is an air freight offering that has enabled many businesses inAsia to expand internationally and engage in global commerce,” Jim O’Gara, President of South AsiaDistrict, UPS Asia Pacific Region, said. “We are pleased to further extend its reach within Asia,allowing businesses in Indonesia, New Zealand and Vietnam to leverage the speed, reliability andvisibility that UPS offers for their urgent freight shipments. This service enables businesses ofall sizes to better compete on a global scale while getting their products faster to moredestinations than ever before.”

For customers in the industrial manufacturing, automotive, high-tech, retail and healthcaresegments with palletised shipments over 70kg, UPS claimed it now offers the guaranteed,day-definite and door-to-door service in more lanes than any other carrier, and with some of thefastest transit times in the industry. For shipments originating from Asia-Pacific, delivery can beas fast as overnight to cities within Asia and three days to Europe and the Americas.

UPS Worldwide Express Freight service offers many of the same features as UPS Worldwide Expresspackage service, such as automated shipment preparation, online tracking and proactive notificationtechnology. In addition, both express freight and parcel shipments are consolidated into one billfor easier reading by customers.
