Brennan’s other priorities include improving the use of data and technology and the company’sinfrastructure such as upgrading its delivery fleet and deploying advanced parcel sortingequipment.

She also wants to invest in training and development of USPS employees and in improving thecompany’s systems and processes. “We will develop strategies to better engage and empoweremployees. As we fully leverage the potential of technology, we want to give you more flexibilityand problem-solving tools to deliver greater value for our customers. To best compete forcustomers, we will need to become more entrepreneurial at every level of the organisation,” shewrote in her letter.

“We will also build the most efficient and productive network to support our growth products. We have made tremendous progress streamlining our operational footprint in recent years, allowingus to keep our products and services affordable,” Brennan added. “We can reinvigorate the way weserve our customers and the public by constantly looking forward as an organisation, anticipatingthe changing needs of our customers, and adapting as quickly as we can to a competitive andevolving marketplace.”

“We have a lot of momentum as an organisation today despite our financial challenges. Wecontinue to take prudent steps to bring our costs and revenues into better alignment. However, theway we are structured today and the way we serve the public today will not be adequate to fullymeet the demands of tomorrow’s marketplace. To be successful in the future, we will continuallyreorient our business strategies to better connect with our customers and redefine the ways weserve the American public,” she concluded.
