FedEx Express has continued its network expansion in Thailand with the opening of a station in thesouthern city of Hat Yai.
Hat Yai, the fourth largest city in Thailand with a population of about 150,000, is a keybusiness centre in southern Thailand and lies on the main highway through the peninsula to thenearby border with Malaysia.
FedEx said it offers “same business day collection” for any parcels collected or dropped offat the station before 12:00 p.m. for Asia destinations and 4:00 p.m. for U.S. and Europeandestinations.
Shipments from Hat Yai will transit through Bangkok, utilizing the 12 FedEx flights departingBangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport each week, to reach more than 220 countries and territoriesworldwide.

The new station is the second FedEx centre to open in Thailand’s southern region, the firstone being in Phuket, which opened its door to customers in 2008. Earlier this year the companyopened a new branch in Khon Kaen, in north-east Thailand.
