GLS delivers trophies for the German Film Awards

German Film Awards

GLS has successfully transported and delivered this year’s trophies for the prestigious German FilmAwards to the winners in Germany and other countries.

With a total of €3m in prize money, the German Film Awards, held on April 26 this year, arethe most lucrative cultural awards in the country.

Because the winners’ names were kept a secret until the last minute, the winners could nottake their awards home right away but had to wait until their names were properly engraved on theso-called ‘LOLA’ statuettes. GLS then delivered the awards to the winners’ locations in Germany,Europe and the rest of the world, together with a bottle of champagne.

“It is a great honour to be part of this major cultural event,” said Saadi Al-Soudani,director of GLS Germany. “We are glad that we can support the German film industry with ourservices.”

Some months prior to the awards ceremony, GLS already handled the first preparatorytransports for the event. In January 2013, the company delivered the films that had beenpre-selected for nomination to more than 1,400 members of the German film academy.

Apart from the German Film Awards, GLS is a logistics partner for several other film eventsincluding the German young talents award First Steps, which will be awarded in September. Also, GLSis the official logistics partner of the European Film Academy for the European Film Awards andGLS’s Austrian subsidiary handled transportation for the LET’s CEE Film festival in Vienna.
