DPD Austria grows revenues and volumes in 2012

DPD Austria has increased both its revenues and parcel volumes in 2012 and expects slight growth ininternational operations this year as it celebrates the 25th anniversary of its successful

operations in the country.

Last year, DPD Austria increased its revenues by around 2 per cent to €160.7 million whileits parcel volumes rose by 1.2 per cent to 38.5 million parcels.

Rainer Schwarz, DPD Austria Managing Director, said: “2012 was a hard but a successful yearfor DPD.” During the last few years, the company was also able to grow its volumes and revenues.

Looking ahead, Schwarz is expecting the “challenging” environment in the domestic market tocontinue this year. “A constant development at the last year’s level will only be possible with bigefforts,” he commented. However, he forecast slight growth in DPD Austria’s internationaloperations.

Since its launch 25 years ago, DPD Austria has dedicated itself to issues related to quality,service and technology which still remain the key factors for the company’s success. They aresummarised under the slogan “Service First!” which plays an important role in the highlycompetitive parcels market.

Based in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna, DPD Austria employs 1,500 staff nationwide and operates adelivery fleet of 900 vehicles.
