The partnership combines TNT Post’s know-how in mail and catalogue shipments up to 1,000g andHermes’ expertise in the B2C and C2C parcel segment.
The distance and mail order business is facing two major challenges including thecommercialisation of its portfolio with printed catalogues being a valuable driving force and theneed for reliable delivery of ordered products to the customer. The new partnership responds toboth of these needs, TNT Post Germany explained.
“Through our cooperation, shippers especially benefit from the fact that they can get a completelogistics package from one provider, if requested, resulting in important synergy effects, forexample in terms of administrative work,” Thomas Horst, sales director at Hermes Logistics GroupGermany, said.
“All in one – this message sounds good to shippers. As a number one competitor on the postalmarket, we can organise the entire shipping volumes nationwide in a reliable and customer-orientedway,” added Michael Mews, Managing Director TNT Post GmbH. He is responsible for key accountbusiness.
Through the partnership, both companies can now offer their business customers an expandedportfolio. While Hermes has added catalogue delivery via TNT Post’s Germany-wide network to itsservices, TNT Post uses Hermes’ services including direct delivery to one of its 14,000 parcelshops across Germany, COD shipments, identity checks or online real-time tracking.
