Swiss Post has signed a framework agreement with the Swiss IT Conference (SIK) for its securee-mail service IncaMail enabling SIK members to send confidential data via a fully protected,
verifiable digital channel.SIK is an inter-cantonal association representing the interests of IT organisations on behalf ofpublic administrations all over Switzerland on the federal, cantonal and municipal levels as wellas public institutions and companies which are at least 50% state-owned.
For SIK, the agreement with Swiss Post represents an important step towards meeting the risingdemand for higher security when sending digital documents as well as the growing need for reliableproducts in support of eGovernment.
Swiss Post offers its secure IncaMail e-mail service to public administrations, business andprivate customers. Sending confidential data in a simple and secure way meets today’s requirementsof administrative paperwork increasingly processed online and communication with companies. In thisfield, eGovernment and eBusiness use appropriate solutions such as IncaMail for sending legaldocuments and pay slips, or SuisseID for identifying users who in turn get access to business andpayment processes.
With high demand for a a high level of security in digital communication and the growing needfor eGovernment services, the quality and reliability of the products available play an importantrole. SIK consults public administrations on choosing and purchasing appropriate solutions byissuing recommendations, defining standards and reducing procurement costs for its members.IncaMail is one of its latest recommendations. An equivalent agreement for Post SuisseID andsecurity certificates developed by Swiss Post subsidiary SwissSign AG has been in place since2012.
IncaMail is used in all sectors whose core business involves confidential information. Banks,insurance companies, consulting firms, the health industry, cantonal authorities and many courtsand law firms now rely on it for the encryption and verifiable digital delivery of theirconfidential data or documents with no temporary storage. The main IncaMail customers ineGovernment include the Zurich Commercial Registry Office, the Zurich Office for Military Affairsand Civil Protection, the cantonal tax authorities and the public unemployment insurance fund.
The IncaMail e-mail service is ISO 27001 certified and has been recognised as a secure deliveryplatform for electronic legal transactions within eGovernment by the Swiss Federal Department ofFinance (FDF). The FDF extended its approval at the end of December 2012. Company representativescan also verify the suitability of IncaMail for their digital communication needs by carrying out arisk test provided by Swiss Post.
