PostNord announced today that subsidiary Post Danmark has completed the 100% acquisition ofDistribution Services A/S, a Danish unaddressed mail company.
Distribution Services specialises in the packaging and handling of unaddressed mail and has beena Post Danmark subcontractor since 2003. The business will be included in PostNord’s accountsas of January 1, 2013.
“The approximately 160 employees are warmly welcome to PostNord. The acquisition is part of PostDanmark’s efforts to adapt its operations and create a more efficient and profitable company. We’reacquiring a well-run company that we’ve worked closely with for many years, and we are now lookingforward to connecting our product processing more closely with our other operations,” commentedHenning Christensen, head of business area Breve Danmark within PostNord.
PostNord first announced the acquisition from the Zimmer Group last August with effect fromJanuary 1, 2013, and pending competition authority approval.
The takeover is the latest in a series of acquisitions made in recent years as theSwedish-Danish group restructures its mail operations and builds up its parcels and logisticsbusiness.
