FedEx has expanded its Priority Alert service for urgent shipments to more than 70 marketsaround the world.
The rollout offers added connections and peace of mind for global customers who require thehighest level of reliable monitoring for their time and temperature-sensitive shipments, thecompany said. Customers for the service include the financial, aerospace, electronics,manufacturing and healthcare industries.
The contract-only ‘Priority Alert’ and ‘Priority Alert Plus’ services, which had been exclusiveto the United States, will be available for inbound and outbound shipments in more than 70countries and will also be offered domestically within Mexico, the United Arab Emirates,Switzerland, India and Canada.
Wrapped with a bright pink tape, FedEx Priority Alert packages stand out from the rest,signalling their priority status when it comes to loading and unloading, the company said. Theservice also offers 24/7 support with proactive monitoring and notification of the status of ashipment.
The added-value FedEx Priority Alert Plus service goes one step further by offering proactiverecovery. Designed primarily for the healthcare industry, Priority Alert Plus includes addedservices to preserve critical shipments, such as dry ice replenishment, gel pack reconditioning andaccess to cold storage to help keep potentially life-saving shipments safe, and to protect theintegrity of the contents from start to finish.
