Itella has won a contract from Maskun Kalustetalo Oy, one of the leading furniture retail chains inFinland, for domestic freight and store and home deliveries.
The comprehensive agreement covers transport to 50 stores and about 50,000 home deliveriesper year and will take effect nationwide at the start of 2013, the Finnish postal group said. Thecontract value was not disclosed.
“It is essential for us that we get faster, more reliable customer deliveries. At the moment,our store network covers all of Finland, so we need a partner who is capable of providing areliable service throughout Finland. Itella offered us an optimal overall solution, and we candevelop our operations with them in the future,” said Matti Immonen, CIO and Logistics Director ofMaskun Kalustetalo Oy.

Maskun Kalustetalo Oy, established in 1983, is a Finnish family enterprise with some 350employees and one of the leading furniture retail chains in Finland. The company has 52 storesacross Finland, and there are two stores in Estonia and Sweden each.
