DPD Russia saw its parcel volumes soar by 33% in the first half of this year as it won newcustomers and benefited from e-commerce growth.
During the first six months of this year, DPD Russia strengthened its market position bydelivering more than 4 million shipments within Russia and to the countries of the Customs Union(Kazakhstan and Belarus) with the overall weight surpassing 100,000 tonnes. The company’s activecustomer base grew by 14% and the delivery quality indicator exceeded 95%.
The main growth sectors were automotive and telecommunications but also distance trading/B2C. InApril, DPD introduced its innovative industry solution for internet stores “DPD Consumer” offeringadditional options including day-definite delivery, flexible agreed delivery times and COD (cash ondelivery) payment.
DPD Russia also continued its network expansion in the first half of the year, with new officesin Saransk, Makhachkala, Nizhny Tagil, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yoshkar-Ola and Nalchik. At the end ofAugust, DPD opened another office in Ussurijsk in the Russian Far East and now has 88 branches andrepresentative offices across the country.
As the result of improving its operational processes, DPD Russia was able to reduce deliverytimes to various destinations including Astrakhan, Ivanovo, Ufa and Magnitogorsk. The deliverytimes from Moscow to Vladivostok have decreased by four working days.
For customers requiring urgent deliveries of valuable cargo or important documents across Russiaor to the CIS countries, DPD introduced a special On-Board Courier service providing delivery by apersonal courier. The geographical coverage of parcel collections and deliveries at weekends hasalso been expanded.
To improve customer service, DPD Russia has established a unified contact centre with facilitiesin Moscow and Novosibirsk with a dedicated phone line for free calls throughout Russia, andintroduced a new return call option. It also simplified shipment collection procedures at itsterminals.
