IN tIME takes over German urgent pharma transportation provider

Leading German premium freight provider IN tIME Express Logistik has expanded its network andservices with the acquisition of LTE Transport GmbH, a family business specialised in urgent

deliveries of pharmaceutical products.

LTE, based in Bubbingen near Freiburg, southern Germany, employs 20 staff with a fleet of 21 ownvehicles and had revenues of about €1.6 million last year. Its customer base includes numerouspharma logistics companies in southern Germany and Switzerland.

IN tIME has started the integration of LTE and plans to expand its site, workforce and fleet inthe middle term.

Similar to IN tIME, LTE offers special deliveries for industrial customers and forwarders, butwith a focus on in temperature-controlled transportation, especially for urgent medicine shipments.IN tIME already entered this market segment in 2009 with the introduction of mobile cool boxes andis now further strengthening its position with the acquisition of LTE.

Armin Steiner, Member of the IN-tIME management, responsible for finance and expansion,explained: “The acquisition means a big leap for us in the field of temperature-controlledtransports. With LTE, we gain additional market knowledge and acquire strong expertise both inoperational and administrational areas, including customs clearance.”

Through its international site and transportation network, IN tIME LTE can offer its customersadditional opportunities and synergies. “Through integration in a Europe-wide disposition andproven IT and tracking systems of IN tIME, we will achieve significant efficiency advantages,”Steiner added.
