Leading Canadian express provider Purolator has opened a new freight facility in Nova Scotia,the most populous province in Atlantic Canada, responding to rapid growth and rising volumes in the
region.The new 678 sqm facility located in Burnside Park, close to the provincial capital Halifax,exceeds the capacity of the previous site, with closer proximity to Purolator’s customers. Thecompany expects it to reduce the driving time by up to 20% which will consequently lead to lowerfuel consumption and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
“This move was necessary to keep pace with the current demand we are experiencing with ourpremium Less-than-truckload (LTL) service. It also allows us to continuously enhance service to ourvalued customers in Dartmouth and Halifax,” Jim MacIntosh, Vice President, Field Operations,Purolator, said.
With 71 freight facilities across the country and over 12,000 employees, Purolator offerscustomised solutions for all sizes of businesses supporting inter-regional shipping.
The company was recently recognised with the Logistics Quarterly Third-Party LogisticsSustainability Award for its environmental commitment.
