DHL

DHL’s Dutch B2C delivery business Selektvracht is now offering consumers a choice of threedelivery time windows instead of two to make home deliveries more convenient.

Since the start of August, customers have been able to choose a delivery time between 11:00 –15:00, 14:00 – 18:00 or 18:00 – 21:00.

“This extended service supports online stores in catering for the needs of consumers for moreconvenience when shopping online,” DHL Express Netherlands said. The first client to offer itscustomers the expanded delivery options is wehkamp.nl, the largest online store in theNetherlands.

In addition to the delivery time windows Selektvracht also offers the ability to deliver onSaturdays from 9.00 to 13.00 and packages may be delivered to one of the more than 750 DHL ServicePoints across the Netherlands. Selektvracht supplies the DHL Service Points, which are often foundin convenience stores and in 95% of cases within a radius of 4 km of each household in theNetherlands.

Selektvracht is also currently rolling out a significant investment in ICT. As part of thisprogramme all couriers have been equipped with a handheld computer in order to optimise track andtrace capabilities. More innovations to further increase the way consumers can influence thedelivery process are being planned.

The service enhancements follow the recent launch of the “DHL For You” service offered by DHLExpress following the linking of its B2B network with Selektvracht’s B2C network. This new B2Cservice is targeted mostly at smaller and mid-sized companies sending about 100 parcels a day toconsumers.
