DPD Russia has signed a partnership with the internet hypermarket Mailstreet.ru for nationwidedelivery to nearly 4,000 towns after winning in the national rating “Logistics operator of Russia
2011″ as the best courier and express provider last month.Through the agreement with DPD, Mailstreet.ru will be the first online retailer offeringdelivery all over Russia, not only to the capital cities of the regions but also to smallerprovincial areas.
Dmitriy Shashkin, CEO Mailstreet.ru, said: “The penetration of the internet in Russian regionsis growing, and the number of buyers who want more variety, lower prices and better service isgrowing as well. The main problem in this case is delivery. Currently, Russian Post provides themost extensive coverage to all the regions, and its monopoly effects regional transportation not ina positive way. With our new partner DPD, we will deliver orders quickly and efficiently in twodays to standard locations and within 3-4 days to remote regions. The price of delivery is alsoappropriate starting from RUB 300 (€7.39) which is comparable with the price level in Moscow.”
“Regional online sales is a very promising business once the delivery issue is solved. Within2-3 months, we plan to increase the share of regional sales up to 50% from the total volumes,” headded.

In June, DPD Russia won the award as the “Logistics operator for courier and express delivery”as part of the 10th national logistics rating “Logistics operator of Russia – 2011”. About 100 ofthe fastest growing companies in the Russian logistics market participated in the rating. Keycriteria for selecting the winners included company transparency, stability of its development,quality and relevance of logistics services provided to current market realities, logisticsinfrastructure, the company’s reputation and degree of brand awareness in the business community.According to the results of 2011, DPD has again confirmed its leadership in the Russian market ofexpress delivery as a reliable, dynamically developing company which offers clients an innovativeportfolio of transport and logistics services of consistently high quality.
