TNT Express wins contract extension with UK bathroom fittings supplier

TNT Express UK has won an extension of the distribution agreement worth €5.6 million a year withindustry-leading bathroom supplier Bristan Group for handling deliveries to its customers

nationwide.

As UK’s largest supplier of bathroom taps, showers and accessories, Bristan’s initial aim was tostreamline its deliveries through a single partner that could manage a high volume of shipmentsevery month through consolidated, next-day delivery before noon. The contract with TNT involvesmore than 35,000 consignments per month, which is a movement of millions of bathroom and sanitaryware items to major stockists across the UK.

TNT said it worked closely with Bristan to develop a cost effective supply chain solution. Adedicated account support system provided by a specialised Major Accounts Desk team ensures thatall enquiries from Bristan Group and their customers are handled quickly.

TNT UK also designed a bespoke IT system that simplifies electronic data flow to increase theaccuracy and exchange of information. Tracking information is fed back to Bristan so their customerservice agents have the information to hand in case of query rather than having to access anexternal website.

The first contract between Bristan and TNT Express UK was signed in the beginning of 2009 forthree years initially.
