Australia Post signed a strategic partnership with Telstra, the country’s largesttelecommunications provider, as a new participant of its free Digital MailBox, launched in March
this year, which will enable the postal operator to use Telstra’s hosting and network services.Through this memorandum of understanding, Australia Post will be able to offer its Telstracustomers access to their Telstra communication documents like account statements and bills via itsnew digital delivery service.
In turn, Telstra will be able to deliver more products and services through the Australia PostIT network supporting the expansion of its retail superstores across the country.
The Digital MailBox will enable Australia Post customers to connect to their secure, individualMailBox anywhere, anytime to receive statements and bills, set reminders and make payments usingany internet enabled device.
For businesses, which already use Australia Post, the system offers a flexible range ofintegration options to connect securely to their customers through the Australia Post DigitalMailBox as part of an integrated physical and digital marketing and communication platform.
Under the memorandum, Telstra will also work with Australia Post towards an agreement for theDigital MailBox service to be hosted on Telstra’s Australian-based secure cloud computingplatform.

“Through the MailBox, Telstra will be able to provide its customers with another convenient wayto receive their statements and bills on a low-cost and secure platform. I am also extremelypleased that Australia Post can leverage Telstra’s trusted brand to deliver bank grade security forthe information stored on the MailBox through its Australian based cloud solution,” he added.
Telstra CEO David Thodey commented: “Part of our digital customer strategy is to provide ourcustomers with access to information through a variety of channels of their choice. The AustraliaPost Digital MailBox will extend this choice to complement our existing digital options such as ourwebsite, and mobile applications. Telstra is investing more than $800 million across the next fiveyears to further grow our cloud computing services.”
