British parcels carrier APC Overnight has opened a new depot in Stockport, Greater Manchester inNorth West England, to provide next day parcel deliveries in the region.
The new parcel distribution facility operated by APC Express Logistics benefits businessesacross the Stockport area covering Bredbury, Macclesfield and Wilmslow.
As part of the company’s network of more than 120 local depots, APC Express Logistics hasbeen an active member of APC Overnight since it was set up in the early 1990s. APC ExpressLogistics employs 50 people, 14 of whom work in the Stockport office, with the remaining ones basedat its Nottingham depot. It has a combined fleet of 30 Mercedes Sprinter vans and four HGVs (largegood vehicles) to keep up with the company’s rapidly growing business.
“We have a long history of providing a high quality service to customers from our Nottinghamfacility and now we can extend this service offering across the Stockport area. We believe that ourlocal approach will benefit customers and they will see a huge difference in what we offer. We havea winning formula and we are now concentrating on winning new customers and expanding thebusiness,” Steve Calvert, Director APC Express Logistics, said.
In the beginning of this month, APC Overnight already expanded its operations in South Yorkshirewith a new warehousing and distribution facility in Rotherham targeting e-commerce companies.
APC Overnight has an extensive next-day delivery network in the UK with more than 120 localdepots covering all regions of the country. It collects, routes and delivers more than 1.4 millionparcels each month. APC Overnight is owned and managed by independent local delivery specialistsconnected into a strong managed system. Originally created by a consortium of 47 UK same-daydelivery companies in the early ’90s, it has tripled the size of the network.
