Austrian Post boosts parcel volumes

Austrian Post has won two new customers to boost its parcel activities in separate contractsthat would generate additional volumes of 300,000 more parcels each year.

As part of the first agreement, the company is offering delivery services for the HaberkornGroup, the largest Austrian technical retailer specialised in safety equipment and technicalproducts.

“The Post is present in Austria at each doorstep. This quality and flexibility makes AustrianPost an appropriate partner for the Haberkorn Group,” Günther Schwärzler, Director TransportLogistics at Haberkorn Group, said.

The other contract has been signed with the retail company Niedermeyer GmbH, which isspecialised in electronics. “With top delivery quality which is competitive in the whole of Europe,the post offers professional services at a fair price,” Roland Klettenhofer, Director Finances& Logistics at Niedermeyer, said.

“We are proud to welcome two more well-known companies as new business customers,” PeterUmundum, Austrian Post Executive Board, said. “With performance and advanced logisticsinfrastructure, Austrian Post was again able to demonstrate its superiority in the highlycompetitive domestic B2B parcel market.”

The Haberkorn Group provides retailing technical products and personal protective equipment inAustria, Eastern Europe and in Switzerland. With around 840 employees, the company generates aturnover of €190 million. Its product ranges comprises more than 100,000 items.

The Austrian firm Niedermeyer specialises in products related to photography, mobile phones andcomputers. It currently has a network of 97 locations all over Austria employing 550 staff. Itslatest turnover amounted to €125 million.
