Royal Mail has launched a new online service enabling customers to create and book theirunaddressed mail campaigns via the internet and arrange printing and direct delivery to save their
time.The new tool – ‘Door Drops Online’ – with a separate website www.doordropsonline.com is designed specifically forsmall and medium sized businesses who may not have a printer or logistics partner. It allows themto organise all aspects of their unaddressed mail campaigns in a quick way with the printing anddelivery managed by Royal Mail.
Phil Ricketts, Royal Mail’s Head of Strategy, Sales and Marketing for Door to Door, said: “Thenew Door Drops Online service is designed to help simplify all aspects of unaddressed mailcampaigns enabling our customers to create their mailings and organise their printing anddistribution requirements from the comfort of their own desks.”
In addition to the online service, Royal Mail will also be offering a managed service optioncalled Print Assist giving customers the opportunity to deal directly with an account manager whocan talk them through the process from start to finish.
The UK postal operator also recently reduced the booking times for unaddressed mail campaigns togive retailers even greater flexibility to seize on newly-identified opportunities in the run up toChristmas.
The improvements to the service come as Royal Mail prepares to deliver Door to Door mail for thefirst time throughout the Christmas period.
Rickets stressed that Door Drops Online gives smaller business customers the possibility toboost festive sales with an unaddressed mail campaign. “Extending the delivery window throughoutthe Christmas period opens up a world of opportunities for retailers and other businesses tocommunicate effectively with existing and potential customers.”
“Recent research has suggested that many people will leave their Christmas shopping later thisyear as they seek out the best deals and Door Drops Online will mean that businesses can adapttheir marketing activities and quickly develop an unaddressed mail campaign if sales are slowerthan expected,” he explained.
Royal Mail has been investing in its Door to Door solution with new products and services tohelp customers develop effective unaddressed mail campaigns. Recently, it introduced the web-basedservice ‘Customer Finder’ to help businesses find and target new consumers or business clients moreeasily and efficiently. The web-based service features functionality which includes choosingtargets, granular search criteria, and building maps and reports.
