Toll unveils new business divisions and names managers

Australian express and logistics firm Toll Group today unveiled its new business divisionalstructure and named the managers to run the operations following a major re-structuring which will

take effect on January 1, 2010.

Under the restructuring, Toll Group will create three new divisions: Global Express; DomesticForwarding and Specialised & Domestic Freight. The main objectives of the new group structurewill be to grow throughout the Asia Pacific region, expand the domestic customer base, enhancecross-selling within the group and providing ‘Origin’ and ‘Destination’ support to Toll GlobalForwarding, the company said in a statement.

“Toll’s future success depends on our ability to grow dynamically into our chosen regionaland global markets. Our organisation needs to be structured to enable our key service offerings tobe sold to customers wanting global solutions,” explained CEO Paul Little.

The new Toll Global Express division will group the express businesses of Toll IPEC, TollPriority and Toll Fast, along with Toll Personnel and Toll Stream Solutions. Divisional Director,Global Express, will be Shane O’Neill, who has been Group Financial Controller in Australia and NewZealand for the last seven years.

“We will employ the unique “express” skills that have allowed us to become market leader inAustralia and expand these skills to take advantage of the opportunities that exist within theAsian region. Shane knows these businesses well,” commented Little.

The Toll Domestic Forwarding division will group the Toll SPD, Toll QRX, Toll Shipping, TollTasmania, Toll Edwards and Toll New Zealand businesses together and will be managed by PaulEbsworth as Divisional Director Domestic Forwarding. “This division will enable us to heighten ourfocus on domestic freight forwarding across various geographies,” Little said.

The Toll Specialised & Domestic Freight division will group together the businesses ofToll Express, Toll Linehaul, Westrans, NQX, Perkins, Toll Liquids, Toll Fleet, Toll Chemicals andToll Transitions under the leadership of Mal Grimmond as Divisional Director, Specialised &Domestic Freight.

Meanwhile, Toll’s Chief Operating Officer, John Ludeke, will retire from the group at the endof the current financial year. He will focus on the integration of the Footwork business in Japanand support CEO Paul Little on strategic issues and potential M&A opportunities until then.
