Parcelforce Worldwide, Royal Mail’s UK parcel division, has launched two new delivery services,improving choice and convenience for businesses and their customers.
‘Parcelforce PM’ is a new, cost-effective next day afternoon delivery service whichcomplements existing services that guarantee delivery by 9am, 10am and 12 noon next day. Choosingmorning or afternoon delivery helps customers to manage their time more effectively so they do notneed to wait at home all day for a parcel with no specific delivery time.
Enabling companies, including catalogue and online retailers, to provide improved choice totheir customers, increasing delivery convenience and satisfaction, the service provides fulltracking of an item’s progress from collection to delivery, the company announced.
‘Parcelforce 48 Large’ has been launched in response to customer demand for a service todeliver larger items. Ideal for home shopping and business-to-business deliveries, the servicedelivers items up to 5 metres maximum length and girth combined within two days.
IKEA has already signed up to the Parcelforce 48 Large service. Lucy Batchelor, OperationalPlanning and Flow Manager, said: “As one of the first companies to use this service, we’ve found itinvaluable in giving the flexibility to deliver large items to our customers throughout the UK intwo days.”
