More CEP managerial appointments in September

Leading companies in the international express and parcel sectors including FedEx, DHL Expressand Itella Logistics made various executive and senior managerial appointments during

September.

Earlier this month, as CEP-Research already reported, new CEOs were named at the national postaloperators in Spain, Chile and Hong Kong, a new CFO was named at PostNord while Deutsche Post DHL’sCFO was re-appointed.

FedEx Express has appointed David J. Ross as Senior Vice President of Operations for MiddleEast, Indian Subcontinent & Africa with responsibility for the leadership and strategicdirection of the region. Ross will succeed Hamdi Osman, who retired from FedEx Express after morethan 30 years of service. He will be based at the company’s Middle East headquarters in Dubai,UAE.

Ross began his career at FedEx Express back in 1992 in Sydney, Australia, managing the company’sground operations. Over the years, he served in various executive positions at the companyresponsible for different regions. Prior to the new appointment, he has been working as RegionalVice President of FedEx Express, South Pacific, based out of Singapore, since 2005.

“David Ross’s proven leadership skills and broad business experience in the expresstransportation industry make him an excellent choice as the new Senior Vice President of Operationsfor this region”, said Gerald P. Leary as Regional President For Europe, Middle East, IndianSubcontinent and Africa.

Also at FedEx, R. Brad Martin and Joshua Cooper Ramo have been elected as new members of thecompany’s Board of Directors, each for a one-year term. Martin has been appointed as a member ofthe Governance Committee while Ramo is joining the Information Technology Oversight Committee.Martin is Chairman of RBM Venture Company, a family investment company.  Ramo is Vice Chairmanof Kissinger Associates, a strategic advisory firm, and is a former journalist who became AssistantManaging Editor of TIME Magazine.

DHL Express Sri Lanka has appointed Flinton Vigneswaran (Vicky) Merrion as the new NationalCustomer Service Manager, succeeding Dennis Moraes who was recently appointed as the PerformanceExcellence Manager for Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets (APEM). In his new role, Vigneswaran willbe responsible for customer service oriented initiatives and strategies that will ensure serviceexcellence delivery for DHL customers.

Itella Logistics, the parcels and logistics unit of the Finnish postal operator Itella Group,has appointed Jørn Johansen as the Managing Director of Itella Logistics in Denmark and Sweden fromOctober onwards. Johansen has been working as Area Director for Scandinavia until now.
