GLS France has sold its InNight business for the optics and spare parts sector to Geodis Ciblexin order to focus on its core business of day-time and express parcel deliveries.
The InNight business includes all overnight deliveries, including InNight-Parcel for the opticssector and InNight-Small Parcel for spare parts. The sale price was not disclosed.
“GLS provides InNight solutions exclusively to French customers,” explained Emeric Bastid,Managing Director of GLS France. “In the future we will be focusing on our key business, namelydaytime express parcel deliveries – across Europe.”
The agreement strengthens Geodis’s position in overnight deliveries in France by broadening itsservice offer.
Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, CEO of the Geodis group, said: “This transaction significantly booststhe existing expertise of Geodis Ciblex in overnight deliveries across France, especially throughits H Night offering, and will enable us to accelerate our development in the optics and spareparts sectors.”
The strong service quality that distinguishes InNight products will be maintained by closecollaboration between GLS and Geodis Ciblex throughout the operational activity transfer phase,which begins on 26 November.
