Kerry Logistics expands Vietnam presence with new logistics centre in Hanoi

Leading Asian forwarding and logistics group Kerry Logistics has opened a new logistics centrein Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, to strengthen its position in the country.

The Kerry (Hung Yen) Logistics Centre will start operating in November and is convenientlylocated between Hanoi and the port city of Haiphong, providing direct ocean access to internationalmarkets. It also has direct highway access to Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport and is close toHai Duong Inland Container Depot.

The 10,000 sqm facility offers a wide range of logistics services for different segmentsincluding electronics and hi-tech, fashion and garments, food and beverage, as well as industrialsectors.

“We have invested in developing a national logistics network in Vietnam during the last fewyears and the new Hanoi facility completes our coverage of the key industrial areas in North, Southand Central Vietnam,” said Robert Tan, Managing Director, South Asia.

Rosa Du, General Manager, Vietnam, added: “Demand is growing from our customers in Vietnam andaround the region for a broad range of logistics services and this new facility demonstrates ourcommitment to meeting that demand.”

In 2010, Kerry Logistics already completed the construction of a strategically important Danangfacility in Central Vietnam. Construction of the second phase of this facility will be completedduring the last quarter of 2011 providing 10,200 sqm of space for warehousing and logisticsservices. Kerry Logistics also operates a 62,500 sqm facility in Ho Chi Minh City.
