DPD Russia further grows its branch network in the country

DPD Russia has further expanded its operational network with the recent opening of four newbranches in the country.

The most recent office was opened in Cherepovetz, north-western Russia, as part of the company’snetwork expansion in Central Russia with the aim to connect the main cities in the region.Important industries in the city include wood and metal processing, food and consumer goods as wellas the construction sector with more than 1500 small- and medium-sized enterprises operating in thecity. The new facility in Cherepovetz will enable DPD to significantly reduce delivery times inCentral Russia ensuring punctual delivery.

Another branch was opened in the port city Murmansk, also in the north-west of the country dueto the growing demand for quality logistics solutions in the region both from SMEs and largeretailers. A majority of federal and regional distribution networks but also distributors ofinstruments and spare parts operate in the city.

Last month, DPD Russia started operating its new sites in Cheboksary, a port city and thecapital of the Chuvash Republic in Russia. Leonid Zondberg, Commercial Director, DPD Russiacommented:  “There were many factors why we decided to open a representation in Cheboksary.The new depot is located in an industrial estate where the business interests of the company’scustomers are concentrated. Therefore, the opening of our office here is an important event, bothfor the companies situated directly in the city, as well as for many manufacturers who can now usethe whole range of latest European-standard logistics services. The city’s economy is above allcharacterised by its developed industry. The leading industries are electronic and power equipment,machine building and the food industry.”

In the Ural region, DPD opened a representative office in Kurgan which is one of the largesttransport hubs in the Russian Federation. The city is located on the crossing of roads andrailways, and links Siberia to the European part of Russia with the Trans-Siberian Railway andother highways and railways passing through Kurgan. It is situated on the Tobol River, 1,973 kmfrom Moscow.

“The Ural region is of huge interest to both small businesses and large retailers. Significantgrowth in economic activity and an increased demand for quality logistics solutions were keyfactors in deciding to open a DPD representation in Kurgan,” Zondberg added.
