DHL Express names new CEO for Middle East and North Africa

DHL Express has appointed Nour Suliman as its new CEO for the Middle East and North Africa, aspart of a management restructure in this fast-developing region.

Nour joined DHL Express more than 30 years ago and has developed into an expert in this region.Country Manager of Saudi Arabia since 2007, Nour has also managed the business in Bahrain andworked in a total of four countries in the region. He takes over from Garry Kemp, CEO Middle East,North Africa & Turkey (MENAT), who has been named Senior Vice-President, Compliance and PostalRelations.

Ken Allen, Global CEO of DHL Express, said: “The appointment of Nour Suliman as CEO of MiddleEast and North Africa will play a critical role in managing and strengthening our partnerrelationships.”

Suliman said: “These are very exciting times for DHL Express in the Middle East and North Africaand for our industry. There are huge opportunities in front of us which require us to be flexible,knowledgeable and quick off the mark, and that requires a constant quest for the best way to dobusiness in this extremely competitive industry.”

The company has been expanding its operations in the region, recently adding new flights fromthe US to the Middle East to help meet growing demand for time-definite express services. It alsorecently launched a new direct route connecting Cincinnati and Bahrain, which cuts delivery time byone day. DHL’s Bahrain hub is a key entry point into Middle East countries and an important link toEurope and Asia.
