TNT Fashion will create 300 jobs with the opening of a new distribution centre in theNetherlands.
The new 30,000 sqm facility in Bergen op Zoom, south of Rotterdam and close to the Belgianborder at Antwerp, replaces a smaller centre in nearby Roosendaal where space was not available forexpansion. It is due to start operations in May.
The TNT Express unit, which specialises in clothing and fashion logistics and distribution, willuse the building as a European distribution centre for various clients.
TNT Fashion has also taken an option for a further 56,000 sqm that would enable it to open amuch larger European distribution centre next year.
TNT Fashion managing director Gerwin Meulman said the company had selected Bergen op Zoom afterconsidering various possible locations in the Netherlands and was happy to be remaining in the sameregion. Advantages of the location included good motorway access and additional space for futureexpansion, he added.
