“The CS40 is an innovative field mobility solution that connects workforces to the enterprisewith an unparalleled combination of performance and durability for Smartphone-sized devices,” saidDavid Krebs, Director Mobile & Wireless Practice, VDC Research. “The CS40 addresses a uniqueneed in the market for fully functional smaller footprint mobile devices that are designed tosupport sustained operation of critical enterprise applications to maximize workforceproductivity.”
Meanwhile, Intermec yesterday announced the launch of its latest data collection innovation –VERDEX, providing unprecedented accuracy and efficiency to the mobile postal worker. For useexclusively on Intermec mobile computers, VERDEX is a real-time solution for enhanced datacollection, nearly eliminating undeliverable address data to maximize overall ROI and improvecustomer satisfaction.
“VERDEX offers mobile workers a breakthrough in mobile computing technology by empowering themto quickly and accurately extract and verify postal address information directly from their mobilecomputer at the point of collection,” said Larry Klimczyk, Vice President of Intermec GlobalSolutions. “This capability combines the elimination of error prone manual data withnever-before-seen downstream planning abilities, allowing not only increased efficiency but theaccuracy enterprise-class customers require to enhance day-to-day operations.”
VERDEX works by capturing an image of text-based information such as an address or forms data, using a handheld scanner and performs a SmartMatchTM verification against a custom database ofinformation. After verification, the image goes through a cleansing process to provide instantaddress verification from the point of collection. VERDEX easily integrates into existing parcelcollection processes with minimal user intervention, increasing productivity and virtuallyeliminating all address-related errors.
VERDEX will be available starting in November 2010.
