FedEx Express will target Taiwanese companies and consumers through 1,000 post offices on theisland under a commercial alliance with Chunghwa Post, Taiwan’s official postal service, which was
announced yesterday.Under their cooperation, the FedEx International Priority service is now provided at 53 majorpost offices and will extend to 1,000 outlets starting July, Chunghwa Post announced. The newservice will enable the postal operator to offer a wider range of international services tocustomers, it added.
“By adding FedEx International Priority service to our portfolio, ChungHwa Post offers a morediversified and complete shipping service to customers. This is our commitment to customers,” saidYu Fang-lai, head of Chunghwa Post.
“This alliance allows us to serve customers in more than 95% of postal delivery zones inTaiwan,” commented Masamichi Ujiie, Regional Vice President of FedEx Express, North Pacific. “Moreconvenience and options are provided for them to ship packages overseas.”
In the past, FedEx’s premium international express service has only been available at FedExAuthorized Ship Centers, which are usually located in Eslite Bookstores or Kodak Expressoutlets.
