GO! opens new branch in Leipzig

GO!, the German courier and express company, has opened a new station in Leipzig to increasecapacity in response to rising volumes.

The new GO! branch, on a 4,000 sqm plot of land, has 2,000 sqm for handling and storage andemploys 48 members of staff. It is nearly three times larger than the previous station.

“The new station offers us excellent working conditions and a solid basis for further andsustainable growth,” said branch manager Uwe Tuma. “We already realised in early 2008 that weneeded to plan a new station since our strong growth exceeded the reserve capacity of the previousstation,” he explained.

In 2009, Go! continued to grow in the Leipzig region and increased its volumes by 12% to 140,000shipments.

“We expect an increase volume of nearly 10% for 2010,” said Claus Wensauer, GO! shareholder andmanaging director of the Leipzig branch. “Our growth is mainly based on our customer specificsolutions. In particular, our great range of customers in different sectors and our personalisedcourier and express services made and make it possible to acquire new customers.”
