Itella launches e-invoicing in online shops through its e-service NetPosti

The Finnish postal operator Itella has signed a cooperation agreement with Suomen VerkkomaksutOy, the leading Finnish online payment solutions provider, making its e-transactions service

NetPosti available in most Finnish online stores.

Finnish customers can now receive the invoice for their online purchases directly in theirNetPosti mailbox by clicking NetPosti’s “invoice button”.

Customers can pay the e-invoices received on NetPosti by logging to their online bank. Thee-invoice will be stored in the NetPosti archive for seven years free of charge. To receiveinvoices via NetPosti, customers are required to register as NetPosti users. In addition to onlinepurchase invoices, other e-invoices and e-letters can be received via NetPosti ranging frompayslips to messages from the authorities.

“The NetPosti customers are active users of online services and online stores. Therefore, it’snatural for us to make the service available in online stores. Paying for your online purchaseswith an e-invoice delivered in your NetPosti mailbox is a safe way to shop online. Moreover, youronline purchases will be documented in your personal NetPosti archive,” said Pasi Ketonen, BusinessDevelopment Director of NetPosti.

NetPosti is Itella’s secure electronic service for consumers, including a mailbox, a seven-yeararchive, over 1,700 electronic forms, and over 170 electronic editions of magazines from 80different publishers. At the moment, there are 4,000 sender companies and over 230,000 customersusing the service. In 2009, over 3.1 million e-letters were delivered to consumers throughNetPosti.
