FedEx to cut over 200 jobs in Ohio due to restructuring measures

FedEx plans to cut more than 200 jobs when closing its shipping terminal in southwest Ohio, USA,in January next year, the Associated Press reported.

According to the FedEx spokeswoman Ann Saccomano, the company will close its National LTLfacility in West Chester, north of Cincinnati, on 29 January with 222 employees expected to losetheir jobs.

The closing is part of FedEx integrating its short-haul and long-haul freight pickup anddelivery networks which was announced in September. Saccomano said the networks were operatingindependently and about 100 facilities that overlapped will close.

Saccomano added that some employees are expected to find other FedEx jobs and there will be nointerruption in customer service.
