Night Star Express records half-year growth despite crisis

German carrier Night Star Express managed to generate single-digit growth in the first half year of2009 despite the tense economic situation in Germany and Europe.



The positive result was due to rising demand for value-added after sales logistics, NightStar Express said in a statement. The company was able to win new customers, especially through theexpansion of international relations, wide-ranging installations and the customised, high-qualityFirst Class night-express solution.

“In addition, we generate cost savings in warehousing and staff of our clients which arecrucial factors especially during economically tense times,” stressed the company’s managingdirector Matthias Hohmann.

For the second half year of 2009, Night Star Express expects further growth due to increasingshipment volumes of existing customers as well as current contract negotiations, he added.

“The positive thing is that we could further expand our market position as one of the leadingnight-express providers despite the economically weak environment. We have established ourselves asa reliable business partner for our customers. With well-targeted projects and measures, we haveadapted to this market situation,” Hohmann continued.

He added that the company is well prepared and will emerge from the crisis stronger thanbefore.
