TNT has been selected by Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal), the world’s largest modernaluminium smelter with a captive power station, as the exclusive provider of express services for
its site in Dubai, UAE.Under the contract which runs for two years, TNT will transport thousands of shipments tosupport the production of up to 1 million tons of hot metal per year.
As a major flagship of the economy in UAE, Dubal selected TNT through a rigorous process. TNTwas finally awarded the contract as a result of offering the best cost and service advantages toDubal, TNT said in a statement.
TNT’s Economy Express service offers a deferred transit time in return for cost-savings overthe faster Express service.
Dubal’s Head of Contract Services, A. Vijayanarayanan, said: “Dubal’s requirements aredemanding in scope and we felt that TNT’s approach was ahead of the pack in terms of flexibilityand service advantages”.
