Aramex has launched a relief aid campaign extending logistics support for supplies to the victimsof the recent attacks in Gaza.
The campaign “Deliver Hope to the People of Gaza” will run in the UAE and Jordan from1-11January. Aramex has linked up with the Hashemite Relief Commission in Jordan to deliverurgently needed medical supplies, dry food and blankets to more than 1.5 million Palestinians inthe Gaza strip.
Hussein Hachem, CEO of Aramex, Gulf region, said: “The need for urgent aid for more than 1.5million Palestinians in the Gaza strip is overwhelming and Aramex is committed to fulfilling itsresponsibility in such difficult times.”
In addition, Aramex has partnered with, Majid Al Futtaim Group which is providing collectionpoints at major shopping malls in the UAE. Fareed Abdel Rahman, Vice President, Divisional AssetManagement for MAF Properties, said that the Majid Al Futtaim Group was committed to providing asmuch assistance as possible for the people of Gaza.
“It is imperative that we deliver aid as quickly as possible to those in need,” Rahmann said.“We at the Majid Al Futtaim Group, in conjunction with Aramex, are urging visitors to showcompassion by donating much-needed relief items in the specially assigned collection boxes placedat our malls.”

Aramex’s logistics network has helped people in disaster-afflicted areas around the world. In2006, the company joined forces with the Higher Relief Commission (HRC) in Lebanon to manage thelogistics and distribution of international aid materials following the bombing of the BeirutInternational Airport. During the “Aid Lebanon with Us” campaign, Aramex managed to collect andship more than 500 tons of aid materials. Separately, it also supplied aid to the victims of thePakistan earthquake in 2006. In 2004, Aramex was heavily involved in getting support to peopleaffected by the Tsunami in South Asia.
