TNT Innight defends night express market leadership

TNT Innight increased revenues by 7% to nearly €300 million in 2008, thus defending its leadershipof the European night express market.



In Germany, its major market, the TNT night express specialist increased revenues by 8.6% to€187 million while shipment volumes grew by 2.7% to 12.74 million.

TNT Innight managing director Philip Alliet said: “With volumes of 12.74 million shipments inGermany and a total of more than 19 million shipments, we are the clear number one when it comes todelivery of time-critical goods by the start of the working day.”

The company has benefited from increased demand for customer-focused after sales logistics,Alliet said. “By delivering before the working day starts, the efficiency of a service technician,for example, can be increased by 50% or more,” he commented. “In these economically very tensetimes, companies can reduce staff costs by using night express solutions and can motivate theirstaff through creative use of their abilities.”

TNT Innight is expecting further growth in 2009 thanks to volume increases from existingcustomers, new contracts and ongoing talks. “We have established ourselves as a reliable businesspartner which can act flexibly and in a customer-oriented way while maintaining high quality,”Alliet said. The company benefited from its extensive network and competitive cost structure, andaimed to further strengthen its market position in 2009, he added.

In Germany, TNT Innight employs about 1,000 staff at 23 depots and has a fleet of 1,600vehicles. The company is also active in other Western and Central European countries.
