FedEx Express has pioneered a new, state-of-the-art desktop tracking tool ‘FedEx Desktop’ toprovide customers in the Middle East with real-time visibility on the status of their
shipments.The FedEx Desktop tool will help customers save valuable time by sending automatic real-timeshipment updates and status summaries directly to the customer’s desktop until the shipment isdelivered, the company announced. Available across in English in the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait, itjoins a suite of other multi-channel shipment visibility tools from FedEx.
Available to download free-of-charge from fedex.com, FedEx Desktop eliminates the need toopen the Internet browser or log on to fedex.com, and offers customers seamless access to packageinformation of shipments sent via FedEx Ship Manager. Users can also add FedEx trackingnumbers manually into the application.
The full range of tracking functions includes a ‘drag and drop’ feature which allowscustomers to drag details of their shipment onto their desktop, or the ability to give shipments ‘nicknames’ to help with tracking purposes. Users who don’t want to see the programme runningon their desktop can choose to let the application run in the background and receive criticalalerts via a pop up screen.
