German express company trans-o-flex announced the opening of its fourth sorting centre in Austriato broaden its network for temperature-controlled distribution services.
The new sorting centre near Graz is being operated by Scherübl, a subsidiary of thetrans-o-flex unit ThermoMed, and is its fourth depot in Austria, thus completing its nationaldistribution network.
Scherübl, which specialises in transporting temperature-controlled shipments for thepharmaceutical and health industries, can now offer next-day delivery across Austria. Theconnection with the network of ThermoMed enables it to provide temperature-controlled transports toand from Germany.
The building was constructed within 14 weeks and is located in Karlsdorf (Styria), Austria,near Graz airport, where Scherübl can share the outside truck waiting area with a neighbouringpostal centre. It lies conveniently at the motorway junction of A2 and A9.
The new facility includes an office building and chilled space for storage and sorting ofgoods between 2-8°C. The fully air-conditioned building with special loading bays for long-distanceand local transporters is maintained between 15-25°C all year.
For shipments originating in Germany, ThermoMed and Scherübl offer nationwide delivery of thetemperature-sensitive goods in Austria within 48 hours. The companies belong to Austrian Post andcover the market for transport services between 2-8°C. Scherübl also offers services within therange of 15-25°C. Uninterrupted storage and transport chains in the two temperature rangesguarantee that the quality of the medicines is maintained.
