Middle East-based express and freight logistics company Aramex has announced double-digit growthfor the third quarter of 2007, and is expanding its services through new facilities.
In the third quarter ended September 30, 2007, Aramex revenues rose 25% to AED 451.7 million,and net profits increased by 14% to AED 26.0 million. Over the first nine months, revenues rose by34% to AED 1,289 million and net profits increased by 31% to AED 89.4 million.
“We had solid double digit growth in all our products, especially our freight and logisticsservices. The Gulf region continues to give us very solid results and we are witnessing consistentprofitability from our Two-Way acquisition in Europe.” commented Fadi Ghandour, Founder & CEOof Aramex. “We continue to be optimistic about our full year results coming out on target,” headded.
Meanwhile, Aramex is in the final stages of completing Phase II of its cutting-edge logisticscentre in Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone, providing a major boost to the company’s supply chainsolution capabilities. In-line with its ambitious expansion plans, the new 10,000 square meteraddition is part of a 25,000 square meter mega-facility that is acting as a strategic hub forAramex’s key markets across the GCC, solidifying its position as a leader within the region’sgrowing logistics industry. Boasting high-level features including a temperature-controlled storagearea and an inventory management system with real time visibility of inventory levels, the newfacility will significantly improve the services available to customers.

At the state-of-the-art Jebel Ali logistics centre, Aramex also now offers logistics servicesfor regional fashion retailers through its an automated GOH (Garment on Hanger) stock replenishmentsystem, with total online visibility and order tracking capabilities.
Meanwhile, the company has also joined the United Nations ‘Global Compact’ initiative, aplatform created to engage the private sector in positive global corporate practices, and to adoptsustainable and socially responsible policies in regards to human rights, labour, the environment,transparency and anti-corruption.
